I present to you my sixth guest artist, her name: Hakomi.
A French artist painter who lives here, in Mexico, as she says on her instagram, a French woman living in Mexico. And who also understands and speaks Spanish.
I have little to know Hakomi, in fact some days, :) but enough to be able to tell you that she is a great painter, and a great person. We have communication by whatsapp and I see her work on instagram and it is as if I had many more days of knowing her.
I met her at the opening of her exhibition "Reflexions" that took place at the restaurant le Pastis Bistro, (a very pleasant and delicious place, I highly recommend them) where I was invited by her host, Mr. David Colliard. And it will be until July 31, 2021. (go see her)
Once her exhibition was inaugurated, we were the first to speak with her, (my daughter and I) talked a little about her exhibition and a little about her, I can tell you that he is a very kind person and with a very nice vibe, a person who opens her heart to you by talking about her and her work, Well, what can I tell you about his work? It's really impressive! for the technique used when painting his works, which are very cool, and for the message that he transmits, or that he personally transmitted to me.
I tell you my brief perception about your exhibition, your paintings are of female characters, and when you see their looks, their faces, their positions, immersed me in endless emotions and mixed feelings, that there is also a moment in which you get to connect with some of them because you feel identified or identified by everything that could be going through their mind, that just sometimes we find ourselves like this, submerged in our mind, where our gaze could say it all, where we rarely get to connect with the heart, and just that, as the title of his exhibition says (Reflexions) his I think paintings invite us to reflect on life, our life, and perhaps ask ourselves: Where do we want to go? What do we want to do? And! Let us do it!
As I mentioned, it is my very personal perception, it is what he transmitted to me and especially what he made me feel when I saw and admired his paintings. in short I loved it!
I can tell you that her work is incredible, and that she as a person is too.
Here she left you some of her wonderful works, her artistic profile sent by herself, and her instagram so that you know more about her incredible and wonderful work.
SEMBLANCE
My favorite subject is feminine nature. My work focuses on the portrait. The face offers an infinite range of emotions. I make an effort to translate the interiority of my models. I try to capture the essence, the soul, the essential. Painting allows me to reveal the dual nature of being, the human and the divine. My intention is to transcribe the inner state of my model.
My realistic paintings are created from photos found on the internet.
I select my models for the beauty of her faces and the intensity of her gaze, the inner strength of her.
I alternate figurative works (pensive young women, immersed in their inner world) and expressionists. In the latter case, I am not using a model. First I draw the eyes, huge, disproportionate, then I draw the shape of the face, always oblong (Modigliani has influenced me a lot). These faces completely cover the painting and the eyes are the focal point of the painting. They are intense, penetrating, bewitching.
A painting is finished when, looking at it, I can feel the emotion that I had perceived in my model and thus try to convey it to the viewer.
Depending on the time, I also make abstract paintings, with geometric shapes or representing symbolic scenes. They all have something in common: the presence of a woman (face or silhouette), cubist or figurative style.
A self-taught artist, I "entered" painting two years ago after meeting a painter who asked me to join her workshop. I participated in some sessions, but I quickly left the classes preferring to be more free to express myself. I watched a lot of artist videos and tutorials, read and keep reading articles dealing with the technical part. And above all I practice every day. I discover, I am wrong, I correct, progress.
I mainly use acrylic, sometimes I add oil pastel and graphite pencil. I experiment with different styles and techniques. I am not trying to follow a fad; I express my emotions, I listen to my heart. This freedom seems to me to be the main meaning of an artist's role.
I was born and raised in France. I lived in Paris for a long time, where I worked as a journalist. Almost twenty years ago I decided to move to Mexico. This country fascinated me with its cultural and spiritual richness. I have lived in Tepoztlán for eight years. I spend many hours a day in front of my easel. I do about one work a week, on canvas, wood or paper. At the moment, I publish my work on Instagram. Later, I will open a web page.
